Separate training, schooling and advice
Request the academic timetable and name of the school or online provider. Ask how missed classes, exams and tournament travel are managed. Then ask what college guidance includes: a realistic school list, video and results profile, communication with coaches, application support or merely a general conversation.
Questions for the operator
- Who is responsible for academic records and graduation documents?
- Who advises on recruitment, and when does that work begin?
- Can we see the exact service and its fee in writing?
Check eligibility with the authority
For NCAA competition, international students must satisfy academic and athletics eligibility requirements. The NCAA Eligibility Center reviews records and documentation; an academy's marketing claim cannot replace that certification. Requirements can vary by division and individual circumstances, so use current NCAA guidance and the prospective university's admissions office.
Questions for the operator
- Do our school subjects and documents meet the current requirements?
- How will competition and amateurism information be recorded?
Compare the alternatives
A full-time boarding academy is not the only route. Some players combine their own school with local training, short camps and tournament travel. Compare the academic fit, training plan, family logistics and full cost before choosing a year-long programme.
